Wrong Way On Highways
I'm hearing a lot more about drivers going the wrong
way on interstates, parkways, and other toll- and
limited-access highways. And NOT all of them are
under the influence of anything.
Are such incidents really on the rise, the media drawing
more attention to them, or a combination of both? Here
in CT I'm seeing more blatantly obvious signage being
posted along and at the bottoms of the off-ramps of our
three major interstates and principal parkway(Merritt-
Wilbur Cross). Directional arrows painted every 50-100ft
on the ramps themselves.
Is it just me, or did we just not need as much visual
indication to differentiate on- VS off-ramps 20-40
years ago? Something's going on.
