Successful Alcoholics, T.J. Miller:
Remember kids, to keep yourself from having a drug addiction, don't inhale or
shoot hard-core drugs, that means do Speed don't do Meth, do Coke don't do Crack,
do Morphine don't do Heroin - or in fact you should probably just stay away from
all opiates in general, - this isn't an advocation to do any drugs, you may be
better off not doing any of these drugs, but just a point of safety - and drink
beer not liquor. Frequent drinking of hard liquor may lead to alcoholism, while
people who stick to beer stay just this side of alcoholism. For every day you
drink heavily, don't drink alcohol for three days. That means don't drink heavily
more than twice per week _max_. Heavily is more than 1-3 drinks, and 3 is pushing
it. Much better not to drink at all more than 2 days per week. Most successful
partiers probably drink more like twice per month! If you go on vacation and
drink five days in a row, don't drink for fifteen days. If fifteen days becomes
thirty days without drinking, so much the better. Don't keep alcohol in the house
if you're persistent in drinking it when it's around. Rather, make yourself sure
you really want alcohol enough to go to the store. Consider that alcohol is
actually a social as well as a mental impediment. No sober person was ever more
attracted to a drunk person than to a sober person. Consider drinking lightly or
ice water frequently, and chat up members of the opposite sex. And don't drink
and drive. A general principle is to not ever drive after even one drink! Or
else get a breathalyzer and keep it in the car for <$100.
Take consideration of the wise words of Cher Horowitz, when she said:
"It is one thing to spark up a doobie and get laced at parties, but it is quite
another to be fried all day."
